Last night, Annie and I had a chance to see Jars of Clay in concert, and guess who forgot to show up? Burlap!!! We were so bummed out. And when the crowd asked Jars where Burlap was, the lead guitarist said that Burlap was “yellow” to come out to Utah! hahahha
Jars was awesome, and it was neat to see a band who’s played together for 10 years still rock it out for the King. They even added a tribute to Chuck Norris, of all people! Yeah, right in the middle of one of their tunes, a quick flash of Norris’ face shows up in the background, and then disappears. Later in the show, Jars gave 3 lessons to learn from Chuck Norris.
Lesson #1 - If you are in a fight, and you fall and break a piece of furniture, you must stop fighting. But, if you fall and do not break a piece of furniture, you may resume fighting.
Lesson #2 - If you are in a fight, and you fall in the water and get wet, you must stop fighting.
Lesson #3 - If you are in a fight, and barrels fall down near you or on you, even though there’s nothing in them, you must stop fighting!
And then of all things, they sang the Norris theme song…ok, is it me, or is that just plain weird!? hahaha
I loved the show! Another band traveling with them, NeedToBreathe, was there and they sounded great. A little bit of southern rock’n'roll and a little Rolling Stones influence, and you have NeedToBreathe! Great show! Get out and see it!
